With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William Raphael Simper of Gonzales, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 4, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Simper and Adele Darilek Simper; his siblings, Virgie Simper and George Simper; and his great grandchild Jacob Simper.
He is survived by: his wife Margie Simper; his children, Debbie Lynn La Fleur (Kevin) of Gonzales, Beverly Jean Glaser of Corpus Christi, Lori Ann Benes (Wilbert) of Gonzales, Jennifer Lea Ruddock (Will) of Gonzales, Michael William Simper (Sherry) and Jeffrey Paul Simper (Susan) of Gonzales; his grandchildren, Cody Simper (Ashley), Justin La Fleur (Becky), Jillian Gonzales, Garrett Simper (Rachel), Courtney Hahn (John), Shayla Tomas (Jason), Torrye Glaser (Kirby), Devin Benes (Jaydin), Morgan Smit (Jared), Ryan Benes (Karyli), Peyton Ruddock, Brooklyn Simper, Weston Ruddock and Rylee Ruddock; his great grandchildren, Luke, Jordyn, Leighton, Cullen, Amelia, Jayde, Lawson, Hazel, Quinn, Briar, Harvey and Hadley; his siblings, David Simper, Mary Ann Havel (Curtis), Jeanne Michalec and Danielle Vana (Allen); and his sister-in-law Debbie Simper. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Seydler-Hill Funeral Home (906 St Paul St, Gonzales, TX 78629). A rosary will be held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (417 N College St, Gonzales, TX 78629). A burial will be held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 11:15 PM at the St James Catholic Cemetery (801 Seydler St, Gonzales, TX 78629).
