He was predeceased by: his adoptive father Harold (Dorothy Petty); his parents, Harold Petty and Dorothy Petty; and his brothers, Phillip Petty (Laurene) and Sonny Hickman.
He is survived by: his children, Jon Petty (Nichole), Christine Garcia, Alisa Giles (Tom), Julianne Ehlers (Tal), Robyn Nogales (late Anthony), Janise Sherwin (Jason), Emily Petty, Jared Petty (Dawn), Kelly Terracio (Justin), Michael Nunn (Baranie), Ginger Upshaw (David) and Amy Hamilton (Bryan); and his sisters, Babette Nelson (Axel Murrell), Wendy Humphries (late Ricky), Phyllis Ann Aaberg (Dave) and LouRae Schmidt (Andy). He is also survived by 54 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (11000 Eldorado Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75035). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Frisco (11000 Eldorado Pkwy, Frisco, TX 75035).
