He is survived by: his wife Lisa Salas of Tulia; his friend Harley; his children, Laura Butler (Scott) of Arlington, Blas Mata, Jr. (Emma) of Lubbock, Mary Hernandez of Plainview, Efran Mata of Tulia, Alexis Victorino of Temple, Daniel Mata (Jacqie) of Canyon, Angie Lopez (Tirso) of Hereford and Aalizah Hernandez of Tulia; his siblings, Joe (Mary Mata), Gildo (Wanita Mata), Alfred (Ida Mata), Tony (Alma Mata), David (late Alicia Mata), Anita Mata and Blanca Mata; his siblings-in-law, Santos Mata and Pablo Morales; and his grandchildren, Bryan, Marisella, Adalyn, Blas Anthony, Isabella, Jesalyn, Jacob, Naudia, Alexia, Audrey, Elizabeth, Efran, Christian, Naomi, Isaac, Daniel Jr., Caleb, Lucas, Ivan, Matthew, Inez, Zachary, Daryn, Mariska, Roman, A'nya and Arian.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tulia - Kornerstone Funeral Directors (201 W Broadway Ave, Tulia, TX 79088). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at the Rose Hill Cemetery (1555 Co Rd 13, Tulia, TX 79088).
