She was predeceased by: her parents, Margot Delahoussaye and Richard Thornton; her son Gill Allen Thornton; and her brother Gill Thornton. She is survived by: her husband Jared Smith of Vidor, TX; her sons, Jason Manning (Michelle) of Hudson, Ryan Smith of Beaumont and Taylor Smith (Laci) of Vidor, Texas; her grandchildren, Wyatt Manning of Hudson and Rhea Alise Smith; and her siblings, Robert Thornton (Shawna) of Powder Springs, GA, Sandy Poole (Laney) of Jena, LA, Nalla Green (Rick) of Deweyville, TX and Maureen Pierce (George) of Port Arthur, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and many specially loved children who considered her a second mother.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor (1750 TX-12, Vidor, TX 77662). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Del-Rose Cemetery.
