She is survived by: her parents, Santiago Acevedo and Juanita Acevedo; her sister Melissa C. Diaz (Enrique Jr.); her nieces, Clarissa Diaz and Analissa Diaz; and her close friend Fernando Javier Vela.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, May 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Memorial Funeral Home - Edinburg (208 E Canton Rd, Edinburg, TX 78539). A rosary will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A procession will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (302 S 15th St, McAllen, TX 78501).
In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations to be made in honor of Marissa Acevedo to Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville or Palm Valley Animal Society in Edinburg.
