With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan Crist Gervig (Waco, Texas), born in Danville, Illinois, who passed away on April 30, 2025 at the age of 102. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Otto H. Crist and Edna Starkey Crist; her husband Charles Gervig (Bud); her sons, John Charles and James Otto; her granddaughter Lauren Ann Gervig; and her brother Jack Wesley Crist.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Joan Heyde (Stephen), Ann Marie Mitchell (Jeff) and Mark Philip Gervig (Lynda); her grandchildren, JoAn Wade (Joe), Melissa Harrison, Rachel Gervig (Nora Hewitt), David Taylor (Meghan), Brian Mitchell (Elizabeth), Brady Mitchell (Kimberley) and Mark Gervig, Jr.; and her great grandchildren, Thomas "Boots", Taylor Felton, Riley, Alyssa Widener, Zach Harrison, Eric, Devon, Dean Gervig, Georgia, Dallas Taylor, Dorothy and Marzolf Mitchell.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM at the Calendar Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home (6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco, TX 76710). A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 9th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Austin Avenue United Methodist Church.
