He was predeceased by: his wife Catarina R. Zuniga; and his children, Esmeralda Zuniga, Ofelia Valadez and Jose Zuniga Jr.. He is survived by: his siblings, Luz Gamez and Willié Zuniga; and his children, Jesse Zuniga, Leticia Mares and Bertha Zuniga. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hughes Funeral Homes - Oak Cliff Chapel (400 E Jefferson Blvd, Dallas, TX 75203). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
