He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew William Thompson and Lorene Rowe Thompson; his wife Evelyn Thompson; and his son James Allen Thompson. He is survived by: his daughters, Andrea Briscoe (Scott) and Roxanne Piatt (Andrew Mitchell). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McWhorter Funeral Home (1074 TX-300, Gilmer, TX 75645). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
