He was predeceased by: his parents, Gregorio Garza and Josefina Garza; and his brother Roberto Vela (Mary). He is survived by: his wife Mary Garza; his grandchildren, Samuel, Joseph, Nicolas, Lucas, Dominique and Juan Jose, Jr.; and his siblings-in-law, Lane Thomas and Mary Rodriguez. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Rivera Funeral Home (1901 Pecan Blvd, McAllen, TX 78501). A prayer will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the same location. The inurnment will be held on Wednesday, September 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery (2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, TX 78572).
