He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Sloan; his parents, James and Rossie; and his siblings, Darby Ray (Joan), Irene Anderson (John) and Christine Tipton (Theron).
He is survived by: his sons, James Ray III (Jana), Larry Ray (Joan) and David Ray (Joyce); his grandchildren, Tim Ray (Katrina), James Ray IV, Jenna Wiggins (Harvey), Benjamin Ray and Joseph Ray; and his great grandchildren, Sabrina, Raven Wiggins, Lydia and Lindsey Ray.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Greenwood's Live Oak Chapel (3100 White Settlement Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76107). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery (2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211).
