It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elton Wayne Callender (Cypress, Texas), born in Stockdale, Texas, who passed away on September 19, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Callender and Alma Callender (Hobbs); and his siblings, Jewell Peters, Joyce Callender, Wilburn, Shelton, Ed and Alton Will.
He is survived by: his daughter Stacy Lyne (Ryan); his wife Helen Callender (Fenske); his son Darwin (Sherry); his grandchildren, Brandi, Krystal, Mason, Kayla and Ashlyn; his great grandchildren, Jaxon and Raelynn; his brother Preston Callender; and his sisters-in-law, Barbara Callender, Erna Thielemann (Clarence) and Martha Huebner.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John Lutheran Church (15235 Spring Cypress Rd, Cypress, TX 77429). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 at 12:30 PM at the St. John Lutheran Cemetery (19520 Cypress Church Rd, Cypress, TX 77433).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church or St. John Lutheran Cemetery Association.
