He was predeceased by: his parents, Gasper Abene and Agnes Abene; and his former wife Elizabeth Tagert Abene. He is survived by: his wife Janet M. Abene; his children, Dr. Michael Abene (Susan) of Houston, TX and Renee Abene Blaylock (Chris) of Flower Mound, TX; his grandchildren, Joshua Abene (Dana), Megan Krueger (Chase), Mallory Jackson (Cory) and Cole Blaylock (Jessica); and his brother Frank Abene. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
