While her presence may be gone, her impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary M. Shumaker and Clifford H. Shumaker; and her husband Tom Matthews. She is survived by: her son Mark; her daughter-in-law Kathy Matthews of Ft. Worth, TX; her daughter Amy; her son-in-law Keith Brochhausen of East Bernard, TX; and her grandchildren, Walker and Rebecca Matthews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Et the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home (13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75081).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the Music Ministry of Highland Park United Methodist Church.
