We bid farewell to Denise Shafner of Groton, Connecticut, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 19, 2025 at the age of 93. Denise touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ellis Rex Murphy and Synova Gullickson Murphy; her sisters-in-law, Janet Shafner and Ila Shafner; and her stepdaughter-in-law Melissa Shafner.
She is survived by: her spouse Eldo Ewbank; her children, Robert Ewbank (Norma), Connie Ewbank Hummel and Kirk Ewbank (Amy); her stepchildren, Diane Zaccaro (John), Daniel Shafner and Nathan Shafner; her daughter-in-law Laurie Shafner; and her siblings-in-law, Sholom Shafner and Naomi Shafner Daina. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
