He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Mitchell and Mildred Mitchell (Sampsell); his wife Barbara Mitchell (Ineson); his daughter Kathleen; his siblings, Burt (Joy), Anne (Hank Boisvert) and Pat (Jim Paine); and his brother-in-law Dick Cashman.
He is survived by: his children, Mark (Mariette) of Thomaston, Charlie (Andrea) of Middlebury and Gary (Sharon) of Wolcott; his daughter-in-law Denise (Dan) of Torrington; his grandchildren, Rachel, Nicole (Zoe), Danny (Brittany), Brittney (AJ), Carlie (Alex) and Crystal; his great grandchildren, Harper, Gavin, Maeve and Savanah; his siblings, Joan Cashman and Joe; and his close friend Tony. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
