With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Laura A. (Dukes) Vitti of Newington, Connecticut, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 24, 2025 at the age of 86. She was predeceased by: her husband Benjamin Vitti; her parents, Eugene Dukes and Laura Dukes (Sobolewski); her son Regis Shannahan; her sister Mary Anne Lancet; and her former husband Regis X. Shannahan.
She is survived by: her children, Laura Montgomery (Michael), Chris Shannahan (Tina), Michael Shannahan (Wojtek) and Nancy Williams (James); her grandchildren, Kevin, Julia Montgomery, Riley, Regan Shannahan, Ingela, Brenna Shannahan, Gavin and Jack Williams; her siblings, Susan Dukes, Joan Dukes (Norman Jardine) and Barry Dukes (Maria); her brother-in-law Mel Lancet; and her daughter-in-law AnnMari Shannahan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 29th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Newington Memorial (20 Bonair Ave, Newington, CT 06111). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 30th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home (20 Bonair Ave, Newington, CT 06111). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Holy Spirit (183 Church St, Newington, CT 06111). A committal service will be held on Saturday, August 30th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the West Meadow Cemetery (679 Willard Ave, Newington, CT 06111).
