She was predeceased by: her parents, Manuel Soares Anselmo (Maria Jose Nunes) and Amancia; her son Joaquim (Conceicao Soares); and her siblings, Laura Natalia Soares Andrade, Helena Soares Medeiros and Antonio Soares Nunes.
She is survived by: her husband Jose Soares of Sousa; her daughters, Maria Virginia Soares (João) of Sousa Braga, Azores and Alice Soares Sousa (Carlos) of Newington, CT; her grandchildren, Helder, Mario, Crestina, Diane, Marco and Jeffrey; and her sisters, Maria Virginia Nunes Soares of Santa Maria and Azores. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home (1084 New Britain Ave, West Hartford, CT 06110). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima Church (50 Kane Street, Fatima Square, Hartford, CT 06106). A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd 2025 at 12:15 PM at the Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery (1 Cottage Grove Rd, Bloomfield, CT 06002).
