Donald, "Donnie" Schulteis, of Germantown, was born on a summer day in 1944 and passed on Tuesday, September 16th at the age of 81. He married the love of his life, Mary, 60 years ago. Together they raised their four daughters in Germantown. His kindness and warm spirit extended across his community in countless acts of service: working for the Village of Menomonee Falls as a fire inspector, firefighter and EMT; teaching fire prevention courses at MATC; working as the chief voting inspector; holding the office of president of the Wisconsin Fire Inspector Association; and volunteering as a firefighter for Germantown.
He truly had the kindest, most generous heart and also loved a good laugh. He was as generous with his laughter and his jokes as he was with the food he made. He loved cooking for his family and friends, and was known for his amazing brats, meatballs, and fresh horseradish. Donnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his Harley, morel mushroom foraging, bird (& squirrel) watching, and attending his grandchildren's various sports and activities. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him and his legacy will live on in the wonderful family he and Mary created together.
Donnie will be dearly missed by his wife, Mary; children: Susan (Andrew) Schmidt, Julia (Jeff) Squier, Angel (Kevin) Wilcox, and Amy Jo (Scott) Deguzis; grandchildren: Kaitlin (Mark) Carew, Patrick (Maggie) Schmidt, Collin Squier, Katrina Schmidt (fiancé Josu Landa), Sydney Squier, Erika Wilcox, Alexander Wilcox, Skye Deguzis, and Mya Deguzis; great-grandson: Charlie Schmidt; sisters: Mary Jensen, Judy Stadler, Linda (Ron) Miller, Nancy Harris, Jean (Rod) Sundblad and Janet Brown; brothers: Romy Schulteis, Robert (Joyce) Schulteis, Mark (Jodi) Schulteis, Mike (Terri) Schulteis and James (Terry) Schulteis.
