Thomas Gilbert Allen

Loving husband, best friend, and amazing father, Thomas Gilbert Allen, age 86, passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He is preceded in death by his parents and older brother James.
Thomas was born September 10, 1939, in Los Angeles, CA TO James Folger Allen and Mary Lena Jewel (Julie) Allen (nee Krueger). He spent most of his youth in San Fransico. He graduated from the University of Maryland in 1962. He would later go on to work in sales and marketing for several computer-related companies, including IBM, Xerox, and Computer Sciences Corporation.
In 1966 he met the love of his life and dearest companion Carole Ridenour. They were married on June 24, 1967, and remained so for nearly 59 wonderful years. To this union were born two daughters, Katherine Shannon and Elizabeth Anne.
Thomas had many "hobbies" including watching endless sports, playing bridge with friends, playing the piano, and doting on his cats.
Survivors include his wife Carole, daughters; Katherine (Scott) Grant and Elizabeth (Brian) Gunia, granddaughters; Evelyn Rebecca, Vivian Rose, and Bridget Katherine. He is also survived by his beloved cats Gilbert and Phoebe, and numerous human friends.
Tom will be incredibly missed by all who knew him.
