Caroline R. Zimmer of Menomonee Falls, WI, born June 18, 1939, died peacefully after a sudden and short battle with cancer, went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2026.
Caroline's father George Zimmer, of Menomonee Falls, WI was one of the early Treasurers of the then village. George and his wife Elsa (nee Kunath) had a son George Jr. A few years later Elsa and their second child both died in childbirth. Over 20 years later George (senior) literally married "the girl next door", Dorothy (nee Doman) who had 13 brothers and sisters. Caroline's parents and her half-brother George Zimmer Jr. (who married Virginia from Whitefish Bay, WI) are deceased.
Caroline's very large family of a half-brother, aunts, uncles, nephew, cousins, their children and their children's children number in the hundreds. As a testimony to her loving character, she knew most of them closely! In the words of her Godson Tim Burger "An amazing soul with heart, curiosity and an adventurer with a little edge".
Caroline, also known as Carrie, graduated from Carrol University, Waukesha, WI with a BS in Medical Technology and later broadened her education with a MA degree. Carrie was a world traveler and worked in several capacities for hospitals in CA, for services in the U.S. Military in Germany, and for many companies in several different capacities in California, Nevada and Wisconsin.
She leaves behind hundreds of relatives throughout the U.S., former co-workers, classmates, neighbors and friends in several civic groups including the Vagabond Ski and Social Club in Milwaukee.
Information for friends, family and genealogists: Cousin, Gail Huber of Oconomowoc, WI; Nephew, George (Tom) Zimmer of Enumclaw, WA; great-nephews, Joe Zimmer and Mike Zimmer of Auburn, WA, and Chris Zimmer of Boise, ID.
