With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bernard William Thien (Fremont, California), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 15, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard J Thien (Helen Schaecher) and Bernard William Thien (Bernie); his wife Marilou Henrietta; his son Timothy Thien; and his sisters, Rosemary Ouimette, Helen Stepzinski and Peggy Stump.
He is survived by: his children, Katie Rand and Michael Thien; his children-in-law, Tony Rand, Kim Thien and Beth Junker; his grandchildren, Andrew Thien, David Camacho, Scott Thien, Austen Thien and Lindsey Thien; and his great grandchildren, Charlie Thien, Walter Camacho and Sam Thien.
A rosary will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Berge-Pappas Chapel of Angels Mortuary. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Church St. Joseph Catholic Church (43148 Mission Blvd, Fremont, CA 94539).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Saint Vincent de Paul Society, in keeping with Bernie's generous spirit.
