With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gilbert Angel Lopez of Vista, California, born in Santa Barbara, California, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 3, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Gilbert may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Gilbert touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezekiel Lopez and Apolonia Lopez. He is survived by: his wife Esther; and his children, Gilbert, Teresa, Elizabeth and Rosanne Lopez. He is also survived by nine grandsons, two granddaughters, and seven great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Allen Brothers Mortuary, Vista Chapel (1315 S Santa Fe Ave, Vista, CA 92083). A vigil service will be held on Thursday, September 11th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the St. Francis Catholic Church (525 W Vista Way, Vista, CA 92083). A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM at the Eternal Hills Cemetery (1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, CA 92054).
