It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maria Carolina Cardoso of Delhi, California, who passed away on September 13, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Adelia Ricardina Sousa Azevedo and Antonio Gonçalves Azevedo; her husband Manuel Armelim Cardoso; her siblings, Antonio Azevedo, José Azevedo, Ricardo Azevedo, Tiberio Azevedo and Georgina Azevedo; and her grandson Matthew Johnson.
She is survived by: her sons, Armelim Cardoso (Odelta) of Delhi, Tiberio Cardoso (Maria) of Delhi, Manuel Cardoso (Tina) of Delhi, Elio George Cardoso of Delhi, Frank Cardoso (Michelle) of Turlock and Albert Cardoso of Delhi; her siblings, Georgina Gomes of Hilmar, Conceição Azevedo of Arizona and Mario Azevedo of Ceres; and her grandchildren, Roger Cardoso, Sara Beutner, Zachery Cardoso, Lisa Cardoso, Tiberio Cardoso, Carolina Leguria, Forrest Cardoso, Grace Cardoso, Elio Cardoso, Melissa Borges, Krystal Miller, Jillian Garcia, Sara Cardoso and Megan Jantz.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service (286 W Main St, Turlock, CA 95380). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church (20263 American Ave, Hilmar, CA 95324).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maria's memory may be made to Spirit of Father Mata, a charitable organization that supports the Sisters of the Missionaries of the Poor, founded by Father Mata in Brazil to care for at-risk children and abandoned elderly women.
