He was predeceased by: his sister Judith Kleitman; and his parents, Jacob Goodstein and Evelyn Goodstein. He is survived by: his close friend Florence Hendler; his daughter Laurie Goodstein (Peter); his grandson Jon Goodstein (Alena Deerwater); his son Gary Goodstein (Andrea Goodstein); his grandchildren, Gabriel Grand (Nora), Ruben Grand, Grant Goodstein and Sarah Goodstein; and his sister Claire Gering.
They walked several miles daily with a group of neighbors, and organized streetside cocktail hours during the COVID pandemic.
He served on boards of the California Society of CPA's, the Bella Lewitsky Dance Foundation, Jewish Homes for the Aged, and the Jewish Federation Council of Greater Los Angeles.
