It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan M. Dobberstein (Carleton, Michigan), who passed away on May 17, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joan M. Dobberstein to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband Bill; her parents, Fred Cousino and Imelda Cousino; and her sister Jeanne Complo. She is survived by: her children, Joseph Dobberstein (Mary) of Monroe, David Dobberstein of Carleton and Michele Sims (Darryl) of Carleton; her grandsons, Brent Sims (Heather) of Carleton, Eric Sims of Carleton and Kyle Sims of Chicago; her great grandchildren, Kaleb, Brody and Elizabeth Sims; and her sisters-in-law, MaryAnn Dobberstein and Susan Dobberstein. She is also survived by Mother's Altar Society, the Father and son.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 20th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bacarella Funeral Home, Inc. (1201 S Telegraph Rd, Monroe, MI 48161). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, May 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the same location. The lying in state will be held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Divine Grace Parish (2996 W Labo Rd, Carleton, MI 48117-9038). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Divine Grace Parish-St. Patrick's Church-Carleton Order (2996 W Labo Rd, Carleton, MI 48117-9038).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, the Capuchin Kitchen of Detroit or consider planting something beautiful in your garden in her memory.
