He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Oom and Alma Oom (Barager); his wife Vera; his son David (Grand Haven); and his sister Dorothy Wales.
He is survived by: his children, Kellie, Edwin, Jr., Brad Oom of Grand Haven and Karen Fredricks (Maury) of Grand Haven; his grandchildren, Danielle (Zac Spofford), Austin Oom, Sarah Carter (Zach), Breona, Isabel Vanderlaan, Sandi Boonenberg (Evan), Ben, Louis (Victoria) and Sam Fredricks; his great grandchildren, Alba, Ava, Iris, Mossimo and Ollie; and his siblings, Harold Oom, Paul, Bruce Brown (Clara) and Kathy Ott (Howard). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Klaassen Family Funeral Home (1500 Robbins Rd, Grand Haven, MI 49417).
