It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christine P. Gapa of Taylor, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on August 15, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Matey and Anna Matey; her husband Earl E. Gapa; her children, Christopher (late Kathleen Hanlon), Nancy and Bernadette (Tim Furton); her siblings, Geraldine Madison and Roman Matey (Ray); and her granddaughter LaRi.
She is survived by: her children, John (late Itha Ploszewski), Paul (late Robin Acosta), Karen (Bill Winkle), Timothy (Naomi Shaheen), Bridget and Anne Marie; and her grandchildren, Shelley, Colleen, Michael, Jason, Tristan, Ariana, Sarah, Lizzie, Tomas, Clara, Victoria, Mark, Kylie and Joseph.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Voran Funeral Home - Taylor (23750 Goddard Rd, Taylor, MI 48180). A rosary will be held on Sunday, August 24th 2025 at 5:30 PM at the Taylor Chapel of Voran Funeral Home (23750 Goddard Rd, Taylor, MI 48180). A Mass will be held on Monday, August 25th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Alfred Catholic Church (24175 Baske St, Taylor, MI 48180).
