He was predeceased by: his parents, David Rankin and Essie Mae Ellis Rankin; his stepmother Annie Ellis Rankin; and his siblings, Genett, Eva Lee, Jean, Vivian, Eloise Rankin White, Powell, John, Theodore and David.
He is survived by: his wife Peggye Wood Rankin; his brother Reverend James Henry Rankin (Mary Emma) of Salisbury, NC.; his sisters-in-law, Thelma Rankin of Detroit, MI, Virginia Rankin of Brooklyn, NY, Mary Wood of Peoria, AZ, Jackie Wood of Atlanta, GA and Julie Wood of Detroit, MI; and his sibling's children, Dana Rankin of Southfield, MI, Rohemia Stringer (George) of Detroit, MI, Wayne Rankin (Jacqueline) of Cornelius, NC and Gilbert (Angela) of Mooresville, NC.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Kelsey Memorial Chapel - Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home (223 E Fisher St, Salisbury, NC 28144). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 29th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
