He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Kathleen A. Callaghan, Mary Jane Callaghan, Patricia E. Calderone (Michael), Elizabeth A. Jennee (Robert), James Patrick Callaghan (Amena), Margaret E. Callaghan and Susan A. Carlson (Russell); his grandchildren, Gavin, Michael, Austin, Ryan, Jason, Patricia, Alexandra, Erin, Kaitlyn and Jack; his great grandchildren, Mary Brooks and Michael; and his sister Maureen McCormick (late Patrick).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Church of the Presentation (271 W Saddle River Rd, Upper Saddle River, NJ 07458). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, August 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, August 27th 2025 at 11:15 AM at the Ascension Cemetery (650 Saddle River Rd, Airmont, NY 10952).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of James to the Alzheimer's Association (http://alz.org) or the Archdiocese of Newark.
