He was predeceased by: his sibling Thomas Gardiner; and his great-niece Allie. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Gardiner; his children, Robert J. Gardiner, III, Michael Schaeffer, Dottie Mulhern (late Richard) and Kathleen Schaeffer; his great grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Isabella, Allison, Jackson, Abigail, Harrison and Elisabeth; and his nephews, Thomas, Jr., Michael, Bethann (Katie), David (Meghan) and Lauren.
Viewing will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Danks-Hinski Funeral Home (125 N White Horse Pike, Lindenwold, NJ 08021). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 12th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Harleigh Cemetery (1640 Haddon Ave, Camden, NJ 08103).
