With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris A. Brett in Montclair, New Jersey, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 15, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Doris departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Doris. Though Doris may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her husband David Brett; and her parents, Frank Ackerman and Ruth Ackerman. She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Dorf (John) and Susan Palatini (Richard); her grandchildren, Randy (Sarah), Carolyn, Dave and Brett; and her sister Jean Thyren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Union Congregational Church (176 Cooper Ave, Montclair, NJ 07043).
