He was predeceased by: his former wife Margaret Szekeres (Keintz); his daughter Jolanda Bonsen (Szekeres); his parents, Joseph Szekeres and Anna Szekeres (Marhefka); his grandparents, Bertalan, Julianna Szekeres (Nagy), George and Elizabeth Marhefka (Majkut); and his great-grandparents, Elek and Theresa Nagy (Elhardt).
He is survived by: his son Christopher Szekeres; his son-in-law Marcus Bonsen of Germany; his grandchildren, Christopher, Jr., Kaylee, Zach, Cole Szekeres, Maike, Lucy Bonsen and Pauline (Micah); his great grandchild Toni; his sister Arlene Meyn (Szekeres); his brother-in-law Ron Meyn of Manasquan; his niece Ashley Tyma (Andrew); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Evelyn, Nate and Colin; and his wife Dona Lee (Calabrese). He is also survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Bruce C. Van Arsdale Funeral Home (111 N Gaston Ave, Somerville, NJ 08876). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish (3500 S Broad St, Hamilton Township, NJ 08610).
