He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Hurley and Helen Hurley; his former wife Mary Ellen; his brother Matthew; and his pet Toby.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his daughters, Kerry McCooey (Bert) of Garden City, NY and Molly Kellett (Charlie) of Cranford, NJ; his stepdaughter Brittany Perri of Atlanta, GA.; his sisters, Judith of Morristown and Jane of Morristown; and his grandchildren, Mary Rae McCooey, Bert McCooey, Maggie Kellett, Bess Kellett and Hank Kellett.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Doyle Funeral Home (106 Maple Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Assumption (91 Maple Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to either the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the Morristown Grapplers Club.
