It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delbert Ray Wilson of Harleton, Texas, born in Dallas, Texas, who passed away on January 5, 2024, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, William Wilson (Billy) and LaVoyce Wilson Gorman (Robert); his former life partner Lois Wilson; and his son Garrett Wilson. He is survived by : his wife Shirley Wilson; his daughter Carmelita Stanley (Tim); his step-children, Joe Yaws (Robin) and Mary Gibson (Josh); his brothers, William Keith Wilson II (Doris), Andrew Wilson and Chuck Boiler; his grandchildren, Dakota Pieratt (Alexa), Kennedy Sinclair (John), Hayden Stanley, Blake Stanley, Natalie Wilson, Caroline Wilson, Benjamin Wilson, Justin Yaws, Rebecca Yaws and Dylan Parker; his great grandchildren, Adleigh Pieratt, Dawson Pieratt and Harper Ann Sinclair; and his nephew Billy Wilson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Downs Funeral Home (4608 Elysian Fields Rd, Marshall, TX 75672). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home (4608 Elysian Fields Rd, Marshall, TX 75672). A burial will be held on Friday, January 12th 2024 at the Smyrna Cemetery (Harleton, TX 75651).
