With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bobby Joe Byrd of Amarillo, Texas, born in Childress, Texas, who passed away on January 28, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his parents, Roy E. Byrd, Sr. and Oneita Cate Byrd; his brother Roy E. Byrd, Jr.; and his great grandchild Noah James Weisgerber. He is survived by : his wife Carolyn Carver; his sons, Robert (Linda) and Tracy (Lisa); and his sister Annice Goodell Duncan. He is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 4th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home (2800 Paramount Blvd, Amarillo, TX 79109). A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 5th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (1208 S Tyler St, Amarillo, TX 79101).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Baptist Student Ministry Center at West Texas A&M University. Donations may be mailed to WTAMU BSM, WT Box 60815, Canyon, Texas 79016.
