It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward Lee Holden of De Kalb, Texas, who passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, William Harvey and Lena Bessie Rankin Holden; his wife Clara Sue Allen Holden; and his brother J. W. Holden. He is survived by : his daughter Cynthia Smith (Kevin) of Texarkana, Texas; his step-children, Charlie Johnson (Chastity) of De Kalb, Texas and Brittany Diedrich (Nick) of Douglas, Wyoming; and his brother Phillip Holden of De Kalb, Texas. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22nd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Bates Family Funeral Home (601 E Front St, De Kalb, TX 75559). A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 23rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Woodmen Cemetery (601 E Front St, De Kalb, TX 75559).
