It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elder Ralph Leon Jeffery of Grand Prairie, Texas, born in Gilmer, Texas, who passed away on February 16, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Knob Jeffrey and Elvira McClung Jeffrey; his wife Dorothy Hollins Jeffrey of Gilmer; and his siblings, Donnie Lee Johnson-McKnight, Rosie Lee Turner, Mary Smith, Rudolph Jeferry, Noddie D. Jeffery, Lorenza Jeffery, Charles Lindberg Jeffery, Isaiah Jeffery and Cornelius Jeffery.
He is survived by : his sister Christine Jeffrey Crowe; and his children, Sandra Pursley (David), Beverley Sheppard, Cynthia Jordan (Searcy), Rachel Bennett (Lorenza), Charlotte Jacobs (Lionel), Ralph Jeffery, Jr. (Gail) and Arthur Jeffery (Lesonia). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23rd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Rosewood Memorial Funeral Home (401 N 5th St, Longview, TX 75601). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 24th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Valley View Baptist Church (7817 Gardenia Rd, Gilmer, TX 75645). A burial will be held on Saturday, February 24th 2024 at the New Hope Cemetery (8605 New Hope Rd, Gilmer, TX 75645).
