With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley House Gilbert in Pasadena, Texas, born in Bullard, Texas, who passed away on March 2, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Chester Hickman and Claudie Mae Potter (Allen); her former life partner Frank House; her husband Jimmy Gilbert; and her sisters, Patsy Frisby, Geraldine Smith and Fern Salver.
She is survived by : her children, Marie Cecil of Frankston, Peggy Robinette of Oklahoma and Frankie House of Pasadena; and her siblings, Lona Elmore, James Hickman and MarySue Bagby. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 5th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Chandler Memorial Funeral Home (205 Broad St, Chandler, TX 75758). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery (12053 State Hwy 64, Tyler, TX 75704).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Willowbrook Baptist Church, 3100 W Erwin St., Tyler, Texas 75702.
