With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Paul Dowell Sr. (Longview, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 3, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to John Paul's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration John Paul has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Curtis Dowell and Nettie Marie Weldon Dowell of Carroll. He is survived by: his son John Paul Dowell Jr. (Fran); his grandchildren, Dana Pletcher (Thomas Jay Pletcher) and Thomas Jay Pletcher Jr. (Aynsley Pletcher); and his great grandchildren, Austin and Alex Pletcher.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lakeview Funeral Home (5000 W Harrison Rd, Longview, TX 75604). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, April 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
