He is survived by: his son David McIlwain (Carol Kay) of Carthage; his daughter-in-law Jeanie McIlwain of Carthage; his grandchildren, Joel McIlwain (Tiffany) of Carthage, Jade Al'Shebli (Mark) of Famerville, Corey McIlwain of Longview, Rachel Laney (Brian) of Carthage and Brandi Bjorgaard (Andrew) of Long Branch; and his great grandchildren, Braxton, Peyton, Jaeger, Jay, Marie of Tennessee, Sarah Faith, Gabriella, Aidan, Bailey Rae, Brooklyn, Brayden and Brody.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hawthorn Funeral Home (307 W Wellington St, Carthage, TX 75633). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel (307 W Wellington St, Carthage, TX 75633).
