With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce Patterson in Abilene, Texas, who passed away on April 9, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Arnold and Irene Arnold; her husband Devearl "Pat" Patterson; and her sisters, Elaine Patterson of Abilene and Kay Arnold of Abilene.
She is survived by: her sons, Marvin Patterson (Kim) of Buffalo Gap, Jason Patterson (Mindy) of Abilene and Eric Patterson (Stacy) of Abilene, Texas; her grandchildren, Tyler Woodson (Jennifer), Dawson Woodson (Amanda), Shelby Patterson, Triston Patterson, Colton Patterson (Krystal), Summer Patterson, Dylan Whisenhunt (Meri), Damon Whisenhunt, Dixon Whisenhunt, Kelcey Williams (Jeff), Hunter Patterson (Whitney) and Kyla Alaman (Jason); and her sisters, Mary Beth Barnes (Don) of Burnet and Kathy Babb (Terry) of Hobbs. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home Chapel (5750 US-277, Abilene, TX 79606). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:25 PM at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery (7457 W Lake Rd, Abilene, TX 79603).
