He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Edward and Sallie Byrd Mapes; his sisters, Patsy Mapes Mullins of Mineola and Melba Mapes Diamond of Sulphur Springs, Texas.; and his grandchildren, Amy Auringer Pugh (Jeremy), April Auringer Hanson (Zach), Alyssa Auringer Long (Stuart), Ashley Burdue, Paige Anderson, Lauren White Mangum (Caleb), Nathan White (Amy), Aidan Anderson, Eli Anderson, Brianna Mapes, Anniston Mapes, Dexter Mapes, Scarlett Mapes, Maggie Graham and Alex Graham.
He is survived by: his friends, John Eiche, Jr., Loren D. Bennett, W. C. Johnson (Bill) and Donald V. Garrett; his spouse Charlott Robinson Anderson; his children, Shelly Mapes Auringer (David) of Canton, Bryan Marcus Anderson (Dianna) of Crosby, Kimberly Sue Mapes (Stephanie) of Arlington, Jarrett Lee Anderson (Lisa) of Waco and Christopher Grant Mapes (Brandi) of Tyler, Texas.; his grandchild Charlott (Ted); and his grandmother Mimi (Pipi). He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Stewart Family Funeral Home (7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy, Tyler, TX 75703). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 1:30 PM at 613 Eagles Bluff Blvd, Bullard, TX 75757.
