With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gwendolyn Joyce Traylor of De Kalb, Texas, who passed away on May 15, 2025 at the age of 69. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hopson Bagsby and Katherine Haywood Bagsby; her siblings, Otis Bagsby (Teevee), Martha Mosley, Lena Brown, Willie Mae Gray, Leroy Bagsby, Jessie Bagsby, George Bagsby, Charlie Bagsby and LaResse Murphy; and her granddaughters, Tehya Jefferson and Brittany Traylor.
She is survived by: her husband Edward James Traylor of De Kalb, Texas; her children, Paul Traylor (Birgit) of Wake Village, Marcus Traylor of De Kalb, Scotty Traylor of Texarkana, Octavie "Tate" Traylor (Stephanie) of Wake Village, Texas, Sandra Gaffney (Melvin) of De Kalb and Shelly Traylor of Nash, Texas; and her brother L. D. Bagsby (Laura) of De Kalb, Texas. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bates Family Funeral Home (601 E Front St, De Kalb, TX 75559).
