It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jimmy Leon Fitzgerald of Texarkana, Texas, born in Texarkana, Arkansas, who passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Jimmy Leon may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Coffey Fitzgerald of Texarkana, Texas; his children, Laura Rayburn of Simms, Texas and Scott Fitzgerald of Texarkana, Texas; and his grandchildren, Sarah, Charlotte, Stacy, Kayli and Sam.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Texarkana Funeral Home (3515 Texas Blvd, Texarkana, TX 75503). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Highland Church of Christ (1000 S Bishop Rd, Texarkana, TX 75501).
