James touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucille Johnson and Jesse Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Willie Dean; his children, Naomi Smith, Dirona Robinson (Lester), Chrystl Ardoin (Darrell), Kimberley Smith, Margene Smith (Latisha) and Courtney Smith; his sister Margaret Black; and his siblings-in-law, Vernell, Mertie, Mary, Ella, William, Edmund and Wilton (Linda). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Craig Funeral Home (2001 S Green St, Longview, TX 75602). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Green Baptist Church (9270 FM 349, Longview, TX 75603).
