With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jessie Josephine Elkins (Daingerfield, Texas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 30, 2025 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, may Jessie Josephine find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may her legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Laura Cole and Jesse Cole. She is survived by: her husband George Harrison Elkins of Longview; and her children, Kathy Moore (Fayet Moore) of Longview, Martha Dickie (Jack Dickie) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Jimmy Elkins of Boise and Donnie Elkins (Karen Elkins) of Amarillo, Texas. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Horn-Nail-Haggard Funeral Home (400 Webb St, Daingerfield, TX 75638). A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Veal Switch Cemetery (3393 TX-11, Hughes Springs, TX 75656).
