He was predeceased by: his parents, Earlin Spigner and Ophelia McClure Spigner; his wife Johnnie Houston Spigner; his daughter Shelia Renee Stubblefield; his great grandchildren, Keen Spigner, Lil Jaylen Jenkins and Lil Ophelia Spigner; and his siblings, Earlin, Sybil Jones, Farrell Spigner, James Spigner (JR) and Charles Hubbard Spigner.
He is survived by: his children, Walter McCauley (LaZenda), Retha Sanders (Larry), Thomasina Pettigrew (late Larry Sr.), Chere'Mumphrey (late Anthony Sr.), Marcus Spigner (Tonya), John Spigner, David Spigner (Alice), Angela Geter and Tamela Young (Aran). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 66 great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the John R. Harmon Undertaking Company (1112 N Palace Ave, Tyler, TX 75702). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greater St. Mary Baptist Church (1615 Texas College Rd, Tyler, TX 75702).
