With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lawrence Chavez of Waco, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 13, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alejo Chavez and Sarah Chavez; and his brothers, Joe Chavez and Roy Chavez. He is survived by: his children, Christopher Chavez (Crystal), Lawrence Vasquez (Erica) and Mandria Arias; his grandchildren, Jayden Chavez, Xavier Chavez, Malean Chavez, Julius Chavez, Lawrence Vasquez, Nicholas Vasquez, Faith Vasquez, Lauryn Vasquez, Mia Vasquez, Kaleab Vasquez, Joseph Arias, Alexia Arias, Dominic Arias and Alaia Aviles; his siblings, Mary Galvan (Pete), Eloy Chavez (Rachelle), Robert Chavez, Pauline Rodriguez (Marshall) and Gloria Chavez; his former wife Virginia Garcia; and his great grandchild Elianna Ramirez. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the OakCrest Funeral Home (4520 Bosque Blvd, Waco, TX 76710). A rosary will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Oakwood Cemetery (2124 S 5th St, Waco, TX 76706).
