He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollie Bessie and Sydney Gail Cox; his wife Barbara Sue Cox (Tate); his siblings, Walter Gail Cox, Clyde Willis Cox, Sidney Gail Cox, Mary Ollie Sain, Leona Kathryn Qualls and Olena Ruth Allison; and his grandson Tyler Wayne Elliott.
He is survived by: his brother Truman Cox (Claudia); his children, Kevin Cox, Melissa Cox, Stacey Elliott (Jerry) and Christi Armstrong (Alan); his grandchildren, Brooke Cox, Joe Cox, Chance Logan (Stephanie), Aaron Logan (Tiffani), Justin Elliott (Jolene), Travis Elliott (Jamie), Chelsea Elliott (Ryan Kizzar), Cody Armstrong, Amber Taylor (Brandon), Bailey Nolan (Weston), Dawson Armstrong and Madison Green; and his caregivers, Ramona Beineman, Christy Hall, Lydia Massingill, Glenn Murray, Leah Stork, Callie Diffe, Jessica Rainwater, Katheryn and Bubba Garland. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Harrell Funeral Home (112 N Camden St, Dublin, TX 76446). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
