He was predeceased by: his parents, Squire Colbert Chappell and Mina Eltice Chappell (Walls); and his siblings, Selma Collis Chappell, Deola Malloy Nagy, Wayland Dare Chappell and Norman Ralph Chappell.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Ann Chappell; his brothers, James Marshall Chappell and Douglas Allan Chappell (Linda); his children, Randall "Randy" Allen Chappell, Wayland Colbert Chappell (Joan) and Cynthia "Cindy" Lou Chappell; his grandchildren, Ingemund "Ike" Lanman, Brandolyn "Brandy" Hewitt (Benjamin), Monte Chappell (Jennifer), Justin Chappell (Krystal), Brittany Wooldridge (Charles), Devin Justice (Jason), Danielle Nagy and Amanda Geyer (Landon); and his great grandchildren, Conner, Bailey, Kirsten, Dylan Lanman (Ike), Alyssa Balzano, Maddox Bourland (Brandy), Madison London Carter, Taylor, McKinley Chappell (Monte), Cory, Mason, Hallee Chappell (Justin), Layla, Grace Wooldridge (Brittany), Braydon Jones, Katelyn, Colt Justice (Devin), Trinity Sheets, Lucas, Brennan Nagy (Danielle), Kassidy, Madalyn, Emma and Layne Geyer (Amanda). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
